COBURN ARCHITECTURE is a multidisciplinary design studio based in tropical Cairns, Australia.

We believe in creating positive spatial experiences for our end users and are dedicated to making a difference through well considered design, building stronger communities.

We deliver projects involving architecture, interior and community design ranging from interior fit-outs and refurbishment projects to large community, health, seniors’ living and education facilities, as well as commercial developments.

We enjoy working collaboratively with our Clients to achieve their goals. At Coburn Architecture we are particularly focused on identifying and managing the different challenges and possibilities each unique project brings. We celebrate project-based research and interpreting the Client’s diverse functional, psychological and commercial requirements.

Our end goal is to design for durability and environmental, social and economic sustainability by creating spaces that are relevant to their time, place and the people that use them for communities to thrive.

The practice was founded in 2013 by Alanna Coburn, following the closure of the dwp|suters Cairns. With over 15 years’ Architectural experience, and 10 years in the Tropics, Alanna and her close-knit team are dedicated to providing end to end project management to service their clients.

We work closely with specialist consultants to deliver each project on time and budget. We team up with other Architects and Consultants as required to deliver larger projects and meet resourcing demands. This structure allows us to be flexible in the way we work and in the scale of projects we can service.
